During McKenzie Middle School’s annual Bridge Camp, students worked to invent new and innovative product plans to present to a group of influential business people in McKenzie. McKenzie Middle School’s Bridge Camp is a summer learning camp created to help students reach benchmarks before advancing to the next grade in August. more
If you were anywhere near Hwy 22 North of Huntingdon on Friday, June 24, you likely heard multiple shots ringing out from the Carroll County Shooting Park. They were hosting one of three Shooting Hunger Events that take place across Tennessee. more
McKenzie High School Class of 1972 recently held its 50-year reunion at Chandler’s Barn in McKenzie where a catered dinner, old times and fond memories greeted classmates. Stories from yesteryear helped rekindle friendships and the class had a pictorial tribute during the dinner honoring 24 deceased classmates. more
McKENZIE (JUNE 21) — More than 100 persons attended the first-ever McKenzie Chamber of Commerce banquet on Tuesday, June 21 at The Venue at Waddell Place in McKenzie. The Chamber has more than 100 members in its inaugural year. Monica Heath serves as the executive director of the newly former McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry. more
The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce recently named Lakeway Nutrition the county’s Small Business of the Year. Lakeway Nutrition, owned and operated by LaShonda Williams of McKenzie, sells healthy meal replacement shakes and energy loaded teas to Paris and Henry County residents. more
Nine days after the demotion of former Director of Schools Lex Suite in a June 9 school board meeting, the South Carroll Special School District School Board announced Lisa Norris of McKenzie will take the newly-vacant position. more
Apple Dumplings 2 granny smith apples, peeled & quartered 1 (8 count) can crescent rolls 1/2 cup margarine 1 cup sugar 1 cup orange juice 1 teaspoon vanilla Wrap each apple quarter in a crescent roll. Sprinkle cinnamon over crescent rolls. Mix margarine, sugar and orange juice in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over crescent rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. more

The Tennessee Valley Association of REALTORS® awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Nate Ricketts on June 15, 2022. Ricketts is a 2022 graduate of Huntington High School and will attend University of Tennessee at Martin in the fall. He is the son of Tonya and Donald (Bud) Ricketts, Jr. more
KNOXVILLE (June 14- 17) — 4-H Academic Conference is a 4-H STEM event held on the campus of UT Knoxville every summer. Students from all over the state of Tennessee submit applications and are selected to attend the conference, based on their project work. The purpose of 4-H Academic Conference is to recognize outstanding 4-Hers who are actively involved in various projects, provide academic training related to the 4-Hers project areas, meet other 4-Hers from across the state, and experience life on a college campus. more
McKENZIE — The James Greer Band was the featured musicians and vocalists at the June 16 Nights on Broadway. They provided country music to an audience seated in the Veterans Memorial Park in downtown McKenzie. more
HUNTINGDON (June 17) — The Hal Holbrook Theater was full with a very appreciative audience on Friday, June 17. They were there for a return performance of multi-platinum entertainer Sara Evans. Evans was reared in a small Missouri community and quickly identified with small-town life. She provided a vibrant concert filled with her many hits. more
Kathy Ham, director of the Beating Hearts Help Center, is the new president of the Rotary Club of McKenzie. Mrs. Ham was installed by immediate past president Sandi Roditis at a banquet on June 14 at Mallard’s Restaurant. more
HUNTINGDON (June 16) — Smokey Bear and members from the Tennessee Division of Forestry visited the Carroll County Library during their Summer Reading Program to teach children how to prevent wildfires. more
McKENZIE (June 17) — This week, Bethel University leaders announced summer 2022 graduates will be recognized alongside fall graduates during a combined celebration Saturday, December 10, 2022, inside Crisp Arena. more
JACKSON (June 12) — McKenzie native Lola Faye Batton, 8, won queen at the Little Miss Tennessee Volunteer pageant held June 12 at Jackson’s Carl Perkins Civic Center. Lola competed as Little Miss Paris Volunteer. more
HUNTINGDON (June 16) — The Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education met in their regular monthly session on Thursday, June 16 with a busy agenda in preparation for the new school year. more
At the McKenzie Special School District Board of Education’s regular June meeting, the school board discussed and voted to hire two additional School Resource Officers (SROs) at McKenzie schools. more
