Memphis Wrestling Entertains at West Carroll High School

ATWOOD — Memphis Wrestling delighted fans at West Carroll High School with an outstanding show in the school’s gymnasium. The event was fundraiser for the War Eagle football team.

A meet and greet for Coach Dru Emerson and Coach Justin Lowery is Saturday, May 18 at Hometown Hangout. The event is 4:30-6 p.m. at the Hangout, adjacent to Gary Simmons Automotive. It is a come-and-go event.
Tuesday, May 7 Softball and soccer tentatively, depending on Monday results. Jacob Smith at Track and Field Regionals in Memphis — discus throw.
McKENZIE (May 2) — On Thursday, the McKenzie Rebels Baseball Team defeated Hollow Rock-Bruceton 14-4 to advance to the 1A District 11 Championship. Lane Anderson pitched in the game against Bruceton. The Tigers got the first run on the night in the first inning. McKenzie responded with two runs. Hayden Garrett stole home and Tate Surber hit Jake Cassidy in putting the score at 2-1 at the end of the first. The Rebels came alive in the bottom of the second scoring ten runs. A big hit from Anderson got Gage Crosland, Lelan Gordon, and Craegen Travis. Bruceton got three more runs before McKenzie ended the game in the fifth inning with a final score of 14-4.

Lady Rebels Fall Short Against McEwen

McKENZIE (April 18) — On Thursday, the Lady Rebels softball team hosted McEwen. McKenzie was down early in the game with a score of 4-0. The Lady Rebels cut the lead to 4-2 before the game got delayed due to weather.

HUNTINGDON (March 28) — McKenzie Rebels and the Huntingdon Mustangs were both foregoing Spring Break when they competed on March 28 in Huntingdon.
CAMDEN (February 27) — On Tuesday, the Huntingdon Mustangs lost to East Hickman in the region semifinals after leading 57-54 with 11 seconds remaining in regulation time.
Over the weekend both the Huntingdon Fillies and the Mustangs advanced in region play. Although familiar territory for the Fillies, the Mustangs moved forward for the first time in three years.

Rebels Take Loss Against Lions

McKENZIE (April 19) — On Friday, the McKenzie Rebels baseball team took on the Dresden Lions. Despite a late rally, the Rebels couldn’t battle back against Dresden, falling 8-6.

McKENZIE (April 15) — In a match-up versus McEwen, McKenzie came out ready. Lane Anderson pitched allowing only one run.

Coach Hodge Welcomed to McKenzie

McKENZIE (April 6) — Keith Hodge, the new head football coach at McKenzie High School, was welcomed to McKenzie on Saturday, April 6 during an informal meet and greet at Hometown Hangout.

McKenzie (April 7) — McKenzie Rebels and Lady Rebels, cheerleaders, and parents were feted at a banquet to honor the players and cheerleaders at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
