McKenzie Rebels Are State Bound

HERMITAGE (November 24) — With Friday night’s 25-14 win over the Dresden Lions, the McKenzie Rebels advanced to the TSSAA State Football Championship in Division 1, Class 1A. For the third consecutive year, the Rebels have earned a spot in the BlueCross Bowl and for the third time in four appearances, they will battle it out with the South Pittsburg Pirates.

Ways to Support the Rebels, Attend the Game McKENZIE (November 27) — For the third consecutive year, the McKenzie High School Rebels football team is headed back to Chattanooga to the Division I Class 1A State Championship. This year, the team is defending their title against the South Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, December 1, at 3 p.m. EST (2 p.m. CST) at Finley Stadium.
McKenzie, Huntingdon Advance in State Playoffs HERMITAGE (November 3) — After one round of action in the TSSAA State Football Playoffs, the herd has thinned from 32 to 16 teams.
McKenzie Rebels Advance to Second Round McKENZIE (November 3) — The McKenzie Rebels opened the first round of the TSSAA State Football Playoffs with a 31-14 win over the Cornersville Bulldogs. Despite the Bulldogs taking an early lead, the Rebels took the lead and held strong for the remainder of the game.

Huntingdon Mustangs Shut Out Waverly

HUNTINGDON (November 3) — On Friday, Huntingdon welcomed Waverly to Paul Ward stadium for the first round of 2A TSSAA playoffs. The Mustangs defense kept the Tiger offense scoreless through four quarters. Their offense easily controlled the ball as they scored nine touchdowns for the night, posting a final score of 62-0. The Mustangs advance in the playoffs and host the Milan Bulldogs for a quarterfinal rematch this Friday night.

Huntingdon Mustangs Shut Out the Gibson County Pioneers HUNTINGDON (October 13) — Friday night, Huntingdon welcomed Gibson County to Paul Ward Stadium for a region matchup. The Mustangs dominated the Pioneers on both sides of the ball and led the game 30-0 by the end of the first half. They scored twice more in the second half under a running clock. The victory advanced Huntingdon to a 7-1 record for the season, 5-0 for region play.

McKENZIE (October 26) — On Thursday night, the McKenzie Rebels hosted the West Carroll War Eagles for the Region 6-1A championship. Coming into the game, both teams were 4-0 in the region. At night’s end, the Rebels took the win, 42-12.
