Rebels Sink Vikings on Homecoming, 56-0

McKENZIE (October 4) — McKenzie High School hosted Perry County Friday for a region football contest, the climax of a Homecoming week jam-packed with activities. The Rebels rode the Homecoming hype high into the game and put on a show for the large crowd, dominating the visiting Vikings 56-0.

McKENZIE (October 2) - McKenzie Elementary held its annual Walk-to-School Day Wednesday with excellent participation. At least 302 students, 177 guardians and a few dogs made the morning trek, which was blessed with beautiful weather.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Sports Writers Association announced football rankings after Week 6 on Monday, with the poll presented by CoachT.com. Top 10 teams in each of the six Division I classifications and Top 5 in three Division II classes were selected by TSWA members with first-place votes in parentheses and total points based on 10 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 10th-place vote.

Fillies are District 12A Runner-Up

MARTIN (October 10) - The Huntingdon High School Fillies traveled Thursday to face Westview in the District 12A Soccer Championship. The host Lady Chargers were in control throughout and scored often for a 9-0 win to claim the title. Both teams advance to the Region 6A Tournament.

HUNTINGDON (September 24) - Huntingdon High School hosted Westview Tuesday for a consequential district soccer match. Each 2-0 in District 12A, the winner would claim the top seed in the upcoming tournament. The Fillies struck first at the very end of the first half, but the Lady Chargers scored three times in the second half to claim the 3-1 victory and the 3-0 district record.

Bethel Announces Homecoming Event Schedule

Bethel University recently released the event schedule for Homecoming 2024, with festivities all week from Sunday, October 27 through the big game on Saturday, November 2.

Lady Rebels Edge Bradford on Eighth Grade Night

McKENZIE (September 19) — The McKenzie Middle School Lady Rebels wrapped up the softball season Thursday as they hosted Bradford and celebrated Eighth Grade Night. The Lady Rebels won a back-and-forth battle, 5-4, over the Lady Red Devils.

ATWOOD (September 20) — Giving up three straight touchdowns right in the middle of the game, ended up costing West Carroll, as the War Eagles suffered their first loss in Region 6-1A play.

Rebels Rout Warriors, 49-7

McKENZIE (September 13) — The McKenzie High School Rebels began region play Friday as they hosted the McEwen Warriors for another rainy affair at Randy Thomas Field. McEwen mustered an early touchdown for a 7-7 tie, but the Rebels ran away for a 49-7 victory.
