The McKenzie Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is hosting their annual Fall Festival Fundraiser on Saturday, October 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at McKenzie Elementary School. There is no entry fee and this event is open to the public. There is a Silent Auction full of themed baskets and local business certificates and goodies, a Cake Walk, a Costume Contest and prizes for grades Pre-K-4th, food, sweet treats and games. They will also be crowning the 2023 Fall Festival King and Queen.

Six past members of McKenzie High School football homecoming royalties from 1948-64 were presented during the 2023 MHS Homecoming parade. The ladies enjoyed a gathering prior to the parade hosted by the McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) and McKenzie City Florist and More, which included refreshments and time for reminiscing about their days at McKenzie High.

McKENZIE (October 6) — Belle O’Brien is the 2023 MHS Football Homecoming Queen. She was crowned during pre-game ceremonies at Rebel Stadium on October 6. The candidates all entered the stadium in a convertible driven by Steven Berryman.

Susan Dyer, a teacher at McKenzie High School in Carroll County, took part in the “Humanity of Leadership” program on Sept. 27 as part of the WestStar Leadership Program’s WestTeach Program. Participants in the WestTeach Program are K-12 teachers who are nominated by their principal who aspire to remain in the classroom but want to be a leader in their school and community.

McKENZIE — McKenzie High School is celebrating Homecoming 2023 this week. Friday includes a parade, a community pep rally, introduction of the Homecoming Court and the coronation of the queen, plus the Homecoming game featuring the McKenzie Rebels and the Houston County Fighting Irish.
