Peggy Lynn Henry Frye,  77, of Jackson, died March 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

She and her husband, Greg Frye, were the former owners of Chalk Studio in McKenzie.

Peggy was born on October 1, 1946 in Jackson, Tenn. to the late Lynn Doyle Henry and Peggy Sue Laughlin Henry. She graduated from Jackson High School in the class of 1964 and attended West Tennessee Business College. Peggy was a member of GracePointe Church in Jackson. She loved the outdoors, working with her plants, watching the birds and hummingbirds and fishing with her husband, Greg. Peggy and Greg raised four boys with lots of love and the fierceness and grit she needed to take care of her home and family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was a staunch defender of her family. She was the one you wanted in your corner.

Peggy Lynn excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family, through and through. Despite her hectic schedule of raising four boys, family and friends were Peggy Lynn’s passion and delight. Her vacations and holidays were spent with siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She enjoyed hosting parties at her house on Friday evenings where family would gather and play games and dance to music.

Peggy loved her family and will be remembered for her piercing blue eyes and always wanting everyone around her to feel loved. She will be greatly missed by many!

She is survived by her husband, Greg Frye; sons, Ashley Frye (Pam), Marty Frye (Kelly), David Frye, and Alan Frye; grandchildren, Shylah Frye, Mylan Surratt, Maggie Frye, Sadie Frye, Sara Catherine Frye, Rebecca Frye, Hunter Frye, and Logan Herndon; her sisters, Dawn Cox (Byron), Teresa Volner, and Kim Johnston; and her brother, Richard Henry (Nita).

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, Jackson, Tenn. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens with Lane Collins and David Frye officiating.

Pallbearers to serve will be Evan Kennedy, Shane Cox, Adam Volner, Chuckie Greenway, Nathan Volner, and Reggie Henry.
