    TENNESSEE (August 12) — Average gasoline prices in Tennessee decreased 8.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.97/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 13.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 44.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 3.4 cents in the last week and stands at $3.72 per gallon- the lowest level since January, 2022, over 900 days ago.

  • West Carroll School Board Approves Budget

    ATWOOD (August 8) — The West Carroll school board met on Thursday August 8 and approved the fiscal year 2024-’25 budget. The $11.6 million budget includes $1.5 million in improvements to the Primary and Elementary schools as well as new asphalt paving for all three schools in the district, some of which is already completed.

    McKENZIE (August 8) — The McKenzie City Council met Thursday with a light agenda. The McKenzie Fire Department was given approval to purchase a battery powered version of the Jaws of Life. The combination package that includes two extended rechargeable battery packs was quoted at $14,074.

After a wild fourth quarter, McKenzie held on for a 32-28 victory.
