Theresa Scott Retires from Hollow Rock-Bruceton

BRUCETON (June 28) — The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Special School District Board of Education recognized Theresa Scott for her 28 years of service as a teacher in the system.

Mrs. Scott graduated from Lake County High School in 1982 and earned her BS Degree in Natural Science and Math from Bethel College in McKenzie. She added a second BS Degree in 1988 from Bethel College in Secondary Education.

She began her career at Henry County High School, where she worked for four years. She began her employment with Central High School in 1993. Over her last 32 years in education, Mrs. Scott taught Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry I and II, Seventh Grade Math and Science, Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Biology I and II, Wellness, Anatomy/Physiology and Physics.

Mrs. Scott has been active as one of Central’s Beta Club Sponsors. Central’s Beta Club has made multiple appearances in the National Beta Club Convention under her leadership.

Mrs. Scott’s energy and enthusiasm coupled with her passion and love for her students has inspired numerous students over her entire career. She has always provided a safe and engaging environment where students are challenged, celebrated and cherished.

Mrs. Scott has accepted a part-time position with Central and will lead the district’s STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. She will work with students across the entire district to increase student’s participation in labs and real-life project-based-learning which will help prepare the students to be viable in today’s modern workforce.
