Rebels Edge Dresden Lions

McKENZIE (March 19) — The McKenzie High School Rebels hosted Dresden Friday for a non-district baseball contest. Dresden struck first, but the Rebels came back to win the pitcher’s duel, 2-1.
The Lions plated their lone run in the top of the third, and McKenzie answered with a run in each of the next two frames.
Ethan Travis led the Rebel offense, going 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs and a stolen base. Ty Anderson was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Hayden Hixon was 2-for-4. Eli Surber went 1-for-3.

Porter Finney was 2-for-2 for the Lions with a stolen base. Trey Eddings went 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Hayden Hixon earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out eleven and walking one.
Matthew Parker got the start for Dresden, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out four and walking four in four innings. Ryeson Greer took the loss, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out two and walking two in one inning of relief. Tatum Oliver threw the final frame, allowing one hit and walking one.
