Mrs. Mildred Marie Walls, 93 of Knoxville, Tennessee, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at her home.

Graveside funeral services were Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Carroll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Walls was born September 29, 1927 in Carroll County to the late George Everett and Florence (Wiles) Eskew. She attended the old Buxter School and Clarksburg High School. She was a nurse’s aide at the old Carroll County General Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1991. She was a faithful member of the West Knoxville Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, George Arthur Eskew, Darrell Lynn Eskew, Virgie Lou McMinn, Robert Wayne Eskew, Gaylon Monroe Eskew, Betty Joyce Crider, Ivy Jane Davis Callison and Juston Kenneth Eskew.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dwayne Carlton Walls; two sons, Dwayne (Paula) Walls of Huntingdon, Dwight (Linda) Walls of Plainview, Texas and a daughter, Starr (Shawn) Leehans of Knoxville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Katherine Hawkins (Daryl) of Huntingdon, Virginia (Dane) Bailey of Marysville, Washington, Lily Stevens and Dexter Stevens of Knoxville and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
