McKenzie, Huntingdon Athletes Place at State Track and Field

ROCKVALE, Tenn. (May 25) — McKenzie High School and Huntingdon High School each had athletes place in the Track and Field competitions in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association state finals in Rockvale.
McKenzie athletes Allie Chappell, a senior, placed 11th with a time of 2:39:50 in the 800-meter dash in D1 Small Schools category. That was her personal best. She will attend Bethel University in the fall.
Marquez Taylor, a sophomore, placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in the men’s division of D1 Small Schools. He had a time of 52.06. He earned 10th place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.96, Overall, McKenzie’s two runners placed 28th in the Track and Field contest. They were limited in points due to the lack of contests entered by McKenzie.

The Rebels’ Track and Field is coached by Alex Hayes and volunteer coach Jeremy Bilger.
Huntingdon’s male athletes placed sixth in the 4x800 meter relay in D1 Small Schools with a time of 8:59:02.
Individually, Colton King, a sophomore, placed fifth in the Boys’ 1600-Meter Run and fourth in the 3200-Meter Run, Carson Warman, a senior, placed eighth in the 800-Meter Run.
D’Allen McCord competed in the 300-Meter Hurdles. Huntingdon is coached by Clint Ezell and Elizabeth Lott.
