Growing up, I was led to believe Carroll Lake was built back in the 1930s. This led to my assumption it was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Well, you know what they say about assuming. Turns out the State of Tennessee bought the land to build the lake in 1949. So this week’s story shines a little light on the history of Carroll Lake.
