Carroll County Senior Citizen Choir
The Carroll County Senior Citizen Choir is asking anyone who is interested in singing in the choir or playing the piano to contact the Office on Aging at 731-986-1985 or Wilma Pearson 865-406-9889. The group sings at different nursing homes and events in Carroll County and surrounding areas.
 
McKenzie Rebel Touchdown Club Ribeye Sale
McKenzie Rebel Touchdown Club is hosting its annual ribeye sandwich sale on Friday, May 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Save-A-Lot. 
 
Trezevant  ‘City-Wide Clean Up’
The Town of Trezevant is declaring May 17-21, 2021 “City-Wide Clean Up” week. City vehicles will be making a concentrated effort to pick up all refuse that citizens place beside the street in an effort to clean up unwanted, unsightly materials. No brush pick up. Please do not place materials by the road more than two days prior to pick up so the materials will not scatter, etc. We appreciate your cooperation and participation. NOTICE: The city will not be able to collect tires, hazardous chemicals, paints, oils, gas, etc.
 
American Legion Annual Memorial Day Flags
All veterans and community members are urged to assist in the annual placing of small flags at the graves of veterans in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The American Legion Post 37 supplies the flags. The event begins at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 30.
 
Carroll County Democratic COMMITTEE, Women  Meet Monthly
Carroll County Democratic Women Committee meets each third Tuesday at 6 p.m. Meetings are held at the Carroll County Office Complex on High Street in Huntingdon. Everyone is welcome to attend. 
 
E911 Board Meeting
The Carroll County Emergency Communications District Board of Directors will meet in a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at 200 Norandal Drive, Huntingdon. 
 
McKenzie Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Club
The McKenzie TOPS Club is celebrating its 50th year. After staying “safer at home,” members are recommitting to continuing their weight loss journey. People who’ve struggle with their weight are invited to join the weekly meeting on Mondays at the McKenzie Church of Christ in the old gym. Weigh-in starts at 3 p.m.; meetings are at 3:30 p.m. Membership is $32 per year. Visitors are welcome to attend their first meeting free of charge. For more information, call 731-352-7309.
 
Old Union Cemetery Needs Upkeep Funds
Old Union Cemetery on Highway 140 between McKenzie and Como is in need of financial funds for upkeep and monument restoration. 
Those with loved ones buried in the cemetery are asked to make donations in any amount to Old Union Cemetery Fund, c/o Billy Phelps, 835 Ross Road, McKenzie, TN 38201. For more information, phone 731-514-7195.
 
Purchasing Committee to Meet
Carroll County Purchasing Committee meets Thursday, June 3, 10 a.m. in the Carroll County Office Compext to open bids for Carroll Academy bleacher replacement.
 
American Legion Golf Outing
American Legion Post 47 of Huntingdon is hosting a golf outing (Texas scramble) on Thursday, June 10, 9 a.m. at Carroll Lake Golf Course. The cost is $75 per person on a four-person team. The meal is included. If 36 person enter, the first team prize is $1,000, second $700, and third $500. Contact Dennis Simpson at 731-358-3031. 
 
Georgia Peaches for Sale by Humane Society
The Carroll County Humane Society will be taking orders for Georgia (Freestone) Peaches beginning Thursday, May 13th and ending Saturday, June 19. A hand picked, fresh orchard box of 11-13 lb. of peaches is $30 or $31.50 if paying with credit or debit card. Delivery will be early to mid July.  
How to order? Call us at 731-352-9950 and please leave a message if no answer. Someone will call you back to take your order. You can also drop by during business hours to order. We are open Tuesday-Friday 8-1 and Saturday 10-2.
You can order via PayPal at paypal.me/cchstn. Make sure your payment is “sending to a friend” to avoid fees and put in notes that your payment is for peaches. We need your name, address and phone number.
Some of our CCHS volunteers will be taking orders in person.

Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education meets Thursday, May 20, 5 p.m. in the Central Office, located at 585 High Street, Huntingdon.
 
Carroll County Budget Committee to Meet
Carroll County Budget Committee meets Friday, May 21, 8:30 a.m. at the Carroll County Office Complex Conference Room. The public is invited to attend.
 
McKenzie School Board to Host Workshop, Meeting
McKenzie Special School District Board of Education meets in a workshop session on Monday, June 7, 5:30 p.m. for a budget workshop and again on Thursday, June 10, 5:30 p.m. to approve the budget.

The regularly scheduled meeting of the McKenzie City Council has been changed to May 20 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at McKenzie City Hall.

Johnson Temple C.M.E. Prayer Vigil
There is a Community Prayer Vigil every Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Johnson Temple C.M.E, 915 Walnut Avenue, McKenzie. 
We come together to pray for one another, our community and country, then study the Word of God. Johnson Temple C.M.E. Church convenes each Sunday with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m.
 
McKenzie City Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
McKenzie Farmers Market Opens June 5
The McKenzie Farmers Market opens June 5 from 8 a.m. until noon. Stay tuned for more details.
 
Joy Club Meets Twice Monthly
The Joy Club meets at McKenzie First United Methodist Church on the first and third Thursdays of each month from noon-2 p.m. Bring a sack lunch and enjoy fellowship, games, guest speakers and movies. All are welcome.
 
McKenzie Historic Zoning  Meets Monthly
The McKenzie Historic Zoning Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month, 4 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
 
McKenzie Condemnation Meetings Monthly
