Bat Cats to Meet Lindsey Wilson in MSC Baseball Tournament Final Site

BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (May 1)  - The 2021 Mid-South Conference baseball opening round wrapped up Saturday with Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), Georgetown (Ky.), Thomas More (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) advancing to the MSC Baseball Tournament final site.

Number 2 seed Freed-Hardeman defeated Pikeville (Ky.), Georgetown got past Martin Methodist (Tenn.), Thomas More defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) in the if-necessary game and Lindsey Wilson beat Shawnee State (Ohio) in an if-necessary game.

The MSC Baseball tournament begins on Thursday, May 6 at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green. The tournament gets started with fourth-seeded Lindsey Wilson taking on No. 5 seed Bethel at 12:30 p.m. CT with the winner facing top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) on Friday at 9 a.m. CT. No. 3 seed Georgetown will face No. 6 seed Thomas More at 4 p.m. Thursday with the winner advancing to face second-seeded Freed-Hardeman.

Friday will also feature two consolation games at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday. The winner’s bracket final will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT followed by the consolation semifinal and final matchups at 2 p.m. CT and 6 p.m. CT. The championship game is scheduled for noon CT on Sunday with the if-necessary to follow at 4 p.m. CT.

The Wildcats are 20-17 on the year while LWC is 22-21. The teams played a three-game series in mid-April in McKenzie with the Blue Raiders winning 7-6 in an 11 inning game and 3-1 in 14 innings. Bethel had won the series opener 1-0. The programs have met four times all-time with both teams winning two games each.
